I hope the New Year is off to a fine start for you. When I haven’t been busy producing for Luminanto, I have been busy in the studio preparing for this year’s PushOFF. My challenge is to edit HAMMER: The History Of Cathy Gordon’s Anger – Six Strategies For Sublimation which was 90 minutes in Cardiff, down to 30 minutes. In case you are not familiar with PushOFF, it is a curated program that showcases tour-ready works and projects in development (hey, HAMMER is both) and runs in association with the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival. It feels great to be able to share this work and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out of this. http://theatrereplacement.org/portfolio-item/pushoff/
After PushOFF, I return to Toronto to continue working on HAMMER at The Theatre Centre. Here is a short article I wrote for them to contextualize one of the key concepts. How I Discovered Withnessing (and no, that’s not a typo), by Cathy Gordon
Also, recently Kathleen Smith wrote this article inspired by Hammer, The History of Cathy Gordon’s Anger.
